READ Micah 5:2–4
2 But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
who are too little to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel,
whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.
2 베들레헴 에브라다야 너는 유다 족속 중에 작을지라도 이스라엘을 다스릴 자가 네게서 내게로 나올 것이라 그의 근본은 상고에, 영원에 있느니라
3 Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in labor has given birth;
then the rest of his brothers shall return to the people of Israel.
3 그러므로 여인이 해산하기까지 그들을 붙여 두시겠고 그 후에는 그의 형제 가운데에 남은 자가 이스라엘 자손에게로 돌아오리니
4 And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord,
in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.
And they shall dwell secure, for now, he shall be great to the ends of the earth.
4 그가 여호와의 능력과 그의 하나님 여호와의 이름의 위엄을 의지하고 서서 목축하니 그들이 거주할 것이라 이제 그가 창대하여 땅 끝까지 미치리라
A prophecy that both pinpoints the exact location of the Messiah’s birth, as well as the hallmarks of his character.
메시아의 정확한 출생지와 그 분의 속성에 대한 특징들을 정확히 표현한 미가의 예언입니다.
REFLECTION
Like many prophetic utterances, Micah sees both the first and second fulfillment of God’s plan, one overlaying the other. The birth of the baby in Bethlehem, and the ruling king over all the earth. This prophecy was well known, and so when Jesus came, having grown up in Nazareth, many discounted the possibility that he was the Messiah, since everyone knew the Messiah was born in Bethlehem. Remember in your daily life that Jesus is working even in places people don’t expect him to. And also, others who you may be tempted to dismiss because of their “pedigree” might have God’s power working within them.
다른 많은 예언적 선포처럼, 미가는 하나님의 계획의 첫 번째와 두 번째 성취 모두가 서로 이어지고 있는 것으로 내다보고 있습니다. 즉 베들레헴에서 아기의 탄생 (초림)은 곧 온 땅을 다스리는 왕으로 오심 (재림)을 의미합니다. 이 예언은 잘 알려져 있어서 나사렛에서 자라신 예수님이 오셨을 때 많은 사람들이 메시아가 베들레헴에서 태어날 것을 알고 있었기 때문에 그가 메시아일 가능성을 무시했습니다.
하지만 예수님은 사람들이 전혀 기대하지 않는 곳에서도 일하고 계심을 일상 생활에서 기억하십시오. 또한, “출생배경 (pedigree: 가계, 혈통, 성장 배경 등)” 때문에 당신이 무시하려고 했던 다른 사람들도 그들 안에서 역사하는 하나님의 능력을 가질 수 있습니다.
PRAYER
Thank God that he is generous and the giver of all good things. Thank him that he has always had a plan for us and for the world that he revealed to the prophets and that finds its fulfillment in Jesus Christ.
인자하시고 모든 좋은 것을 주시는 하나님께 감사합니다.
우리를 위한 선한 계획과 선지자들에게 말씀하시고 예수 그리스도안에서 성취하시고 이 땅을 구원하시는 주님께 감사합니다.
